Don’t be weird! Sharing from the heart

Do you buy products from a company that uses a network marketing business model? Chances are if you do then you have had some fantastic results, otherwise you wouldn’t continue to buy them right?

Maybe you have lost weight or gained energy.

Maybe you have smoother skin or look and feel younger than your age.

Maybe you get to travel around the world at wholesale prices.

Whatever it is for you, somebody shared their experience with you in the first place because they cared enough about you to want you to get the same benefits as them.

Imagine if they hadn’t shared it with you in the first place – how would you feel now?

So my question to you is this:

Don’t you want your friends and loved ones to feel the same way too?

A lot of people hold back on sharing with their family and friends because they don’t want to be the weird network marketer who alienates everyone.

Well there is a simple answer to that one:

DON’T BE WEIRD!!!

The reality is, people don’t hate network marketing, they hate network marketers. The bad ones that is, the ones who give the whole industry a bad name.

People refer things to other people all of the time!

If you go to a new restaurant that you love you tell your friends.

If you go watch a movie that you think your friends will enjoy you tell them about it.

You post up new clothes, shoes etc on your social media that you have bought and name the brands so that your friends can check them out.

The only difference here is that you don’t get paid a referral fee for doing it!!!

If you had a traditional business, let’s say a coffee shop, would you tell your friends about it and invite them down to check it out?

Of course you would! And your friends would all come and support you (if they are really friends!)

So why is it we get so hung up on “earning money” from our friends when we have a network marketing product to share?

One of my favourite quotes is from Simon Sinek, author of Start With Why

“People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it”

People don’t buy from you because of your products, they buy from you because of who you are and what you stand for. Your values. Your intentions.

If we have a solution that we genuinely believe will help somebody with a problem they have, and if we share that solution authentically from the heart with no other motive other than to help that person then that intention will come through.

And whether that person decides to buy your product or not, they will appreciate the gesture, and definitely will not think you are WEIRD. (And if they do they are probably not really your friend anyway!)
