Challenge Day Ten – Hello Monday

Why is it that it’s always hardest to get out of bed on a Monday? I had to really push myself to get up this morning when the alarm went of at 5am. For a moment I almost convinced myself to take another hour and run this evening…

But in the end my auto-pilot took over and I got out of bed. The thing is, once you build long term habits it’s actually really hard to go against them, whether you want to or not.

It may take a while but building a lifestyle where you put your health as a top priority is definitely worth the work at the start. There is no way I would be able to train and compete in ultramarathons if I didn’t have that mindset.

I strive to show up as the best version of myself, for me and nobody else. But I find it does have a knock on effect onto other people in my life, which is definitely a good thing.

Anyway it was just an easy hour around the river this morning, and being a Monday it was also a fasting day for me after a few indulgences at the weekend…
