Week three kicked off with Wildhorse @ Night 25km as night training for BVRT miler. Unfortunately I had a bit of a stack and banged my knee hard which meant I needed a couple of days off to let the swelling go down.
By Tuesday all was good and I went out for my speedwork session Tuesday evening. It always amazes me how I can do my warmup so slowly with my legs feeling like lead, wondering how on earth I am going to be able to switch to running fast reps.
But then, as soon as the reps start it’s like I flick a switch and automatically I am running a good minute/km faster.
I guess it’s just a mental thing (in more ways than one!)
Anyway 54kms run in the last seven days, should have been higher but it is what it is, and at this late stage I am not going to try making up for kms lost.
Last night’s speed session ended abruptly, couldn’t get my breathing right and ended up coughing a lot so decided to cut it and go out again this morning which went a lot better 🙂
Food wise I have really been struggling by the end of the day to have the energy to prepare a healthy meal after work, and I have to say I have not been as disciplined as I would have liked.
So, I decided to order myself some more Youfoodz meals so I now have no excuse not to have a proper meal in the evening! I’ve used them before and I love the fact that they are all fresh not frozen, and they are just so convenient.
Plus this week , there was a free protein doughnut – OMG! Tasted so good it doesn’t deserve to be healthy 🙂 24g protein – the same as one of my brekkie smoothies!!
